SUMMARY:Align to Participate in 2024 API Pipeline Information eXchange (PIX) Workshop Nov 5
DESCRIPTION:We look forward to participating in the API Workshop at the 2024 API Pipeline Information eXchange (PIX) Workshop\n🔔 The PIX on November 6 is for operators only.\nThe workshop on November 5 is OPEN TO ALL interested participants\nLocation:\nJW Marriott Houston Downtown\n806 Main St, Houston, TX 77002\nOverview\nCall for Abstracts Now Open – Submit Online Now »\nCall for Abstracts Deadline – Friday, September 13, 2024\nThe American Petroleum Institute (API) is pleased to announce that we are sponsoring our annual Pipeline Information eXchange (PIX). The 2024 PIX will be held at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown in Houston, TX on Wednesday November 6, 2024, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, followed by a reception for attendees.\nAs with the prior annual events, PIX provides a unique forum for pipeline operators to openly share information and lessons learned across a broad range of topic areas, including pipeline system incidents, near misses, industry best practices, and improvements made to pipeline safety programs through practical experiences.\nThe pipeline industry has a strong culture and practice of sharing lessons from incidents and process improvements. In support of our steadfast commitment to safety, PIX is held each year to share experiences with the aim of preventing similar incidents. API and LEPA have issued a Guide to Sharing and a Guide to Learning to facilitate greater sharing of and incorporation of lessons learned to improve pipeline and personnel safety and operational reliability. Please review these guidelines and consider sharing your own company’s experiences to promote industry-wide learning.\nIn addition to the PIX, API is also sponsoring a separate half-day pipeline safety workshop on the afternoon of November 5, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The workshop is also being held at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown and will focus on industry best practices for corrosion assessment and integrity management on operating pipeline systems.\nPlease Note: The PIX on November 6 is for operators only. The workshop on November 5 is open to all interested participants.\nQuestions:\nRegistration and Logistics: Anna Tsang, 202-682-8127, tsanga@api.org\nProgram: Mark Piazza, 202-682-8546, piazzam@api.org\nProgram Details\nCall for Abstracts Now Open – Submit Online Now »\nCall for Abstracts Deadline – Friday, September 13, 2024\nThe Program for 2024 PIX will be based on abstracts received from pipeline operating companies that are interested in sharing information to drive continuous improvements in pipeline reliability and safety.\nInformation related to submitting abstracts and topics for consideration in developing the program can be found on the abstracts submission page.\nRegistered participants will receive additional information as the program is developed.\nHotel\nJW Marriott Houston Downtown\n806 Main St\nHouston, TX 77002\nOnline Reservations »\nRoom Rate: $299single or double occupancy\nMention the API Pipeline Information eXchange Workshop and Meeting, to receive the API group rate.\nReservations questions: If you need additional assistance, please call 713-237-1111\nReservations Deadline: Tuesday, October 15, 2024, by 5:00 pm, CT, or until room block is sold out.\nAfter this date and time, reservations will be accepted on a space and room type availability basis and at the hotel’s best rate available.\nRoom Guarantee and Reservation Cancellation: A credit card guarantee is required to confirm and hold everyone’s reservation. Cancellations must be received by the hotel at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to arrival and a cancellation number must be obtained or the card will be charged for the first night’s room rate. Hotel is responsible for informing guests of this requirement. API assumes no responsibility. Any payments received by the hotel as a result of late cancellations or no-shows will be credited to API’s room block for attrition purposes.\nMonitor the website for the JW Marriott Houston Downtown or contact them directly with question or for ongoing and updated details.\nAvoid Housing Scams\nNote: API has not contracted with any third party for hotel arrangements and will not call or email you directly to make housing arrangements on your behalf.\nShould you receive a call or email from a third-party provider, please collect as much information as you can and let us know immediately. “Room Poachers” have been known to act as representatives of API, or authorized providers of API, to offer room discounts or alternative accommodations to our attendees – often to the attendee’s detriment. These companies are not affiliated with API, and reservations made through these companies for our meeting cannot be guaranteed.\nHow It Works\nThis deceptive practice (called “room poaching”) is carried out by third‐party companies that act as travel agencies, wholesalers, or even API to solicit registrants for room reservations. The poacher might inform registrants that the hotel room block is “sold out,” and that if you do not book with them immediately, you may not get a room. Room poachers make it more difficult for us to meet our room block commitments, and expose us to penalties and increased room rates for our events. Room poachers often don’t deliver on promises to customers. When customers arrive, reservations are non‐existent or the hotels are not conveniently located. Sometimes the rooms have been cancelled and hefty cancellation fees have been placed on the customer’s credit card.\nDon’t Be Deceived\nIf you are contacted by anyone asking if you need a room for the API Conference, please get as much information as you can (their name, company name, phone number, etc.) and pass it along to registrar@api.org. Always make your room reservation directly with the information provided by API or a trusted source.\nAPI will use all legal means possible to prevent these groups from operating.\nPlease contact registrar@api.org with any questions.\nAbout Align Integrity:\nOur mission is to be the trusted partner of North American companies, offering fractional “High Value” multidiscipline engineering and “High Value” advanced engineering solutions.\n\nCivil & Geotechnical\nStructural\nMechanical\nPiping\nChemical / Process\nElectrical & Automation\n\nWe are committed to providing exceptional expertise and innovative solutions that “align” with our clients’ needs and goals while upholding the highest ethical standards ensuring transparency, honesty, and reliability in everything we do.
